Stellar Play Earns Kiser And Hagenah Weekly ECC Honors

CENTRAL ISLIP, N.Y. (April 4, 2011) – C.W. Post Senior pitcher Sarah Kiser (Arnold, Md.) and freshman third baseman Nicole Hagenah (Commack, N.Y.) each received East Coast Conference softball honors for their outstanding play during the Pioneers' 8-0 run last week.
 
Kiser was a perfect 4-0 last week with a 0.45 earned run average. Kiser opened the week with an 11-strikeout performance against Adelphi.  She followed up with a pair of two-hit shutouts against American International and Merrimack.  She went overtime against Molloy for the win, allowing one earned run on five hits with 10 strikeouts.  In all, Kiser struck out 31 batters in 31 innings pitched and held batters to a .113 average.
 
Hagenah finished the week with a .455 average (10-for-22), driving in six runs and scoring seven.  She combined to go 3-for-6 against Adelphi with three RBI and a run scored, including a two-run single in game two. Hagenah recorded her sixth home run of the season when she unleashed a long solo shot in game one against Molloy.  She was 3-for-5 against the Lions with an RBI and three runs scored.
 
C.W. Post (17-5, 5-1 ECC) returns to action on Tuesday when it hosts Mercy College at 3 p.m.
