No. 4 Women's Soccer Wraps Up Regular Season With 2-0 Blanking of Philadelphia

Alexa Niciforo (East Islip, N.Y.) propelled the No. 4 LIU Post women's soccer team to a 2-0 victory over Philadelphia University on Saturday afternoon.
The Pioneers wrap up the regular season with a 15-1-2 record, while Philadelphia now stands at 11-7.
After a scoreless first half that saw the Rams hold a slight edge on the shot chart (5-4), the Pioneers found the back of the net less than ten minutes into the second half, as
Karina Rizzo (Oceanside, N.Y.) took a free kick from 35 yards out and found Vistnes, who headed it in for a 1-0 lead.
Niciforo added an insurance goal in the 73rd minute as she slotted a shot from 25 yards out inside the far post.
Senior goalkeeper
Nicole Fierro (East Hampton, N.Y.) made four saves to earn her sixth shutout of the season. Courtney Shaw stopped six shots for the Rams. Shots were even with each team taking 10, while LIU Post had a 3-1 edge in corners.
The Pioneers, who have the No. 1 seed in the upcoming ECC tournament, will host No. 4 Dowling on Wednesday at 2:30 p.m.
