National Rankings
KANSAS CITY, Kan. (Oct. 9, 2012) -
The LIU Post women's soccer team climbed four spots to No. 7 in this week's National Soccer Coaches Association of American (NSCAA) Division II National poll.  The ranking is the highest for the Pioneers since November of 2008

The Pioneers, who also take over the top spot in the NSCAA East Region poll, posted two wins this week.  The team needed double overtime to secure a 1-0 victory over Mercy, but Hanna Westerling provided the game winner against the Mavericks.  In a matchup of the top two teams in the ECC, the Pioneers came away with a 3-1 victory over Bridgeport and maintain sole possession of first place in the ECC with a 10-1-1 record overall and a 6-0 slate in conference play. The trio of Westerling, Susanne Vistnes and Alexa Niciforo again provided the scoring damage as Westerling had three points (1 g, 1a), Niciforo had three (1 g, 1a) and Vistnes had five (2g, 1a).

The Pioneers are 11th in the nation in scoring offense, and Vistnes ranks eighth in points per game, 14th in goals per game, 12th in assists per game, and third in total points

On the schedule this week is a non-conference matchup on Thursday against Wilmington starting at 3:30 p.m., followed by a road contest on Saturday at NYIT.
