Altamura, Coyle, and Schmitz Named USTFCCCA All-Academic Honorees
NEW ORLEANS, LA. (Feb. 10, 2012) – This past Thursday, the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association announced the 2011 Division II Cross Country All-Academic Honorees on the men's side with three Pioneers making the list.
Graduate student
Richard Schmitz (Farmingdale, N.Y.) and juniors
Christian Altamura (Seaford, N.Y.) and
Raymond Coyle (Woodhaven, N.Y.) were named to the list after their performances in competition as well as in the classroom.
To earn a spot on this list, the student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher in the most-recent semester with at least 12 credit hours completed during the semester of competition and placed in the top 50 percent at the most recent NCAA National Championships or in the top 30 percent at the NCAA Regional Championships.
