In game one, the Lions staked themselves to a 5-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning, beginning with a three-run blast off the bat of first baseman Carla Campagna.  Catcher Josette Cavallaro added a two-run double to center field.

The Pioneers got one run back in the top half of the second when sophomore designated player Liz Weber (Brightwaters, N.Y.) cranked a solo shot over the wall in right center.

Molloy answered in the bottom of the inning with a fielder's choice RBI from center fielder Jeana Frey to push its lead to 6-1.  The damage continued into the fourth when the Lions scored two more on back-to-back homers from Campagna and Calderwood.

The Lions plated the final run of the game in the bottom of the fifth when Calderwood drew an RBI walk.

Campagna was 3-for-3 at the plate with four RBI and two runs scored for the Lions.  Kelley Jansen earned her 15th win of the season.  She gave up just one run on four hits while fanning 11 batters.

The Pioneers added another run in the fourth on an RBI single to right field that scored pinch runner Jessica Julich (Kings Park, N.Y.).  Sophomore shortstop Nicole Hagenah (Commack, N.Y.), who is tied with Dowling's Stephanie Tarango for the lead in home runs in the ECC, led off the fifth inning with her 10th home run of the season to left center.   Sophomore Carly Chamberlain (Nesco, N.J.) scored on a wild pitch later in the inning.
