The Pioneers scored four runs in the bottom of the first inning, beginning with a two-run shot over the fence in left center from sophomore third baseman Alexis Gonzalez (Hauppauge, N.Y.) that was followed up with sacrifice flies from junior first baseman Kaci Hopkins (New Egypt, N.J.) and junior second baseman Nicole Fierro (East Hampton, N.Y.).

C.W. Post closed out the game in the bottom of the fifth with four more runs.  Freshman catcher Alyson Dzierzynski (Deer Park, N.Y.) drove in the first run with a sacrifice fly hit to center field that scored senior left fielder Kerry Fisher (Barto, Pa.) from third.  The second run of the inning was scored by Gonzalez on a wild pitch to give the Pioneers a 6-0 lead.  Then, with two outs, Fierro came to the plate and laced a double to left center that scored Hopkins and sophomore shortstop Nicole Hagenah (Commack, N.Y.).

Sophomore pitcher Liz Weber (Brightwaters, N.Y.) earned her 15th win in the circle after pitching a one-hit shutout with a walk and six strikeouts over five innings of work.

C.W. Post's defense was able to keep the Purple Knights from scoring the go-ahead run in the fifth and went to work on putting runs on the board in the bottom of the inning.  Fisher recorded the game-winning hit with a single to right that scored Fierro, who had reached with a walk and advanced to third on back-to-back sacrifice bunts from sophomore right fielder Jessica Julich (Kings Park, N.Y.) and freshman center fielder Catherine Havens (Eastport, N.Y.).  The Pioneers added an insurance run with an RBI walk issued to Dzierzynski.

Fisher finished the game batting 2-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored while Hopkins and Dzierzynski each recorded two RBI.
