Dzierzynski Earns Second Consecutive ECC Rookie Of The Week Honor
CENTRAL ISLIP, N.Y. (April 9, 2012) – Freshman catcher
Alyson Dzierzynski (Deer Park, N.Y.) of the C.W. Post softball team earned her second straight nod as the East Coast Conference Rookie of the Week, the conference announced late Monday evening.
Dzierzynski batted .478 at the plate last week with 11 hits in 23 at bats that included two homers and four doubles for nine RBI and seven runs scored. She was 2-for-3 with a run scored at New Haven. She knocked out her sixth home run of the season with a 3-run shot at NYIT on April 6. She followed that with her seventh blast of the season in the Pioneers' 10-1 win over the Bears on April 7.
C.W. Post (27-13, 15-1 ECC) travels to play conference leader Molloy College on Tuesday, April 10 at Skelos Field in Rockville Centre at 3 p.m.
