Hagenah, Gonzalez, Weber And Dzierzynski Named NFCA All-Region

iss. (May 10, 2012) – Four C.W. Post softball players were recognized as NFCA Division All-Region selections by the region's coaches.  Sophomore Nicole Hagenah (Commack, N.Y.) was a First Team selection while sophomores Alexis Gonzalez (Hauppauge, N.Y.) and Liz Weber and freshman Alyson Dzierzynski (Deer Park, N.Y.) were named to the Second Team.
 
Hagenah, who started every game at shortstop this season, led the Pioneers in slugging percentage (.653), RBI (48), runs (54), home runs (11), doubles (13), walks (34) and total bases (111).  She was named the East Coast Conference Player of the Year and was also voted Daktronics Inc. First Team All-Region.
 
Gonzalez made every start at third base led the team with 69 hits, including 10 home runs and 10 doubles at the plate. 
 
Weber split time between pitcher and designated player.  In the circle, she posted a 17-6 overall record with 135 strikeouts in 138 innings pitched.  At the plate, she batted .296 with 45 hits and drove in 30 runs.  Weber was also voted Daktronics Inc. First Team All-Region for utility.

Dzierzynski, who was named the ECC Rookie of the Year, had a solid rookie campaign behind the plate.  She recorded 56 hits, including 10 home runs and nine RBI, and drove in 45 runs for the Pioneers.   
 
C.W. Post was 37-22 in 2012 and advanced to its 11th straight NCAA tournament.
