Hagenah, Weber and Havens Recognized To Daktronics Softball All-Region Teams
BROOKVILLE, N.Y. (May 8, 2012) – Sophomore shortstop
Nicole Hagenah (Commack, N.Y.) was selected to the Daktronics Inc. First Team while sophomore P/DP
Liz Weber (Brightwaters, N.Y.) and freshman outfielder
Catherine Havens (Eastport, N.Y.) were named to the Second Team, as voted upon by the region's sports information directors.
Hagenah, who was also named the East Coast Conference Player of the Year, led the Pioneers in slugging percentage (.653), RBI (48), runs (54), home runs (11), doubles (13), walks (34) and total bases (111).
Havens led her team with 69 hits and was 13-for-13 in stolen base attempts. As the leadoff hitter, she batted .369 and came around to score 44 runs while driving in nine.
Weber led the pitching staff with in wins with a 17-6 overall record that included four shutouts and 135 strikeouts in 138 innings pitched. She batted .296 at the plate with 45 hits, including six doubles, a triple and three round-trippers to drive in 30 runs for the Pioneers.
C.W. Post was 37-2 in 2012 and advanced to its 11
th straight NCAA tournament.
