Men's Cross Country Selected Eighth In East Regional Ranking
NEW ORLEANS (Aug. 30, 2012)—With the release of the Preseason Division II Regional Rankings earlier this week, the LIU Post men's cross country team finds itself eighth in the East Region, as voted on by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).
LIU Post is joined in the regional rankings by fellow East Coast Conference member, Molloy College, which is ranked ninth. Also ranked are seven Northeast-10 teams and one team from the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference. The number one ranking belongs to UMass Lowell, the favorite to win a fourth consecutive East Regional championship. Rounding out the ranking's top three spots are the Stonehill College and Bentley University.
The 2011 season proved to be successful once again for the men's cross country team capturing their third consecutive East Coast Conference championship. This achievement has also landed them atop the 2012 ECC Preseason Poll. The Pioneers look to keep adding onto their accomplishments and hope to garner an even more successful season in 2012.
