KANSAS CITY, Mo. (Sept. 12, 2012)  - The LIU Post women's soccer team made its first appearance of the 2012 season in the national rankings, as the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) released its weekly Division II rankings and slotted the Pioneers in the 18th spot.

The Pioneers are joined in the poll by East Region opponent Saint Rose, who holds onto the top spot in the poll for the third straight week, along with UMass-Lowell, who is ranked 23rd.

Head coach Mark Dawson's team continued its winning ways last week with a 2-0 record for the week, posting a 4-0 blanking of Georgian Court before edging out Kutztown, 2-1. The Pioneers earned a clean sweep of the ECC weekly awards, as junior Jeanine Ambrogi (Greenlawn, N.Y.) earned Offensive honors, senior Nicole Fierro (East Hampton, N.Y.) was named Defensive Player, and freshman Hanna Westerling (Alvadalen, Sweden) was named Rookie of the Week.  The Pioneers, who stand at 3-0-1 on the season, will play two contests this week, traveling to Holy Family on Wednesday before returning home to host Caldwell on Saturday.
