Volleyball Falls To Adelphi, 3-0, In Final Match Of LIU Post Invitational

BROOKVILLE, N.Y. (Sept. 15, 2012)—The LIU Post volleyball team dropped its final match of the weekend tournament this evening to Adelphi University.  Adelphi took the 3-0 sweep (25-19, 25-21, 25-20).

The Pioneers fall to 7-4, while Adelphi improves to 7-5.

Junior Makamae Namahoe (Hilo, Hawaii) led all players with 13 kills, and she also added 10 digs to record her seventh straight double-double (ninth on the season). Also contributing on defense were freshmen Rachel Ringor (Honolulu, Hawaii) and Harlee Meyers (Kailua, Hawaii) who added to Namahoe's dig total with 10 digs apiece.  Also contributing in a large part for the Pioneers were the freshmen setting duo Katie Barto (East Rockaway, N.Y.) and Monica Amador (Cedar Park, Texas).  The pair tossed up a combined 27 assists on the evening.

The Panthers' Katie Bryson led all players with 30 assists, and Bianca Hernandez scooped up a match high 19 digs.

The Pioneers return to action Tuesday, Sept. 18 as the hit the road to visit conference-foe New York Institute of Technology at 7 p.m.
