Volleyball Records First ECC Win With 3-1 Victory Over Mercy

DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. (Sept. 25, 2012) – The LIU Post volleyball team recorded its first conference win tonight, taking a 3-1 (25-16, 26-24, 21-25, 25-23) victory at Mercy College.
LIU Post improves to 9-8 (1-2 ECC), while Mercy drops to 2-10 (0-2 ECC).
The number 11 was lucky for junior middle blocker
Makamae Namahoe (Hilo, Hawaii) this evening. Namahoe registered her 11th double-double of the season while posting 11 kills and 11 digs. Freshman
Rachel Ringor (Honolulu, Hawaii) led all players on the court with 13 digs. Sophomore
Heather Adams (Centerville, Ohio) added nine kills and nine digs for the Pioneers. The freshmen setting duo
Monica Amador (Cedar Park, Texas) and
Katie Barto (East Rockaway, N.Y.) tossed up 20 and 15 assists respectively. Junior
Susy Cricchi (Borgovelino, Rieti, Italy) added a season-high eight total blocks on the night.
The Mavericks' Brenna White posted her fifth 20-kill match of the year, and McKenna Ronan contributed 46 assists for the game.
The Pioneers return to action Saturday, Sept. 29 and face-off against ECC foe Roberts Wesleyan College at 2 p.m. and the College of Saint Rose at 4 p.m. in the Pratt Recreation Center.
