No. 4 Indiana (Pa.) Upends No. 8 Field Hockey, 3-1
Box Score INDIANA, Pa. (Sept. 28, 2012) – No. 4 Indiana (Pa.) University scored three second half goals to defeat No. 8 LIU Post, 3-1, in a non-conference field hockey match Friday afternoon at Miller Stadium.
Indiana (Pa.) improves its overall record to 9-2 while LIU Post slips to 5-4.
Anouk Sickman tallied the Hawks' first goal on a penalty stroke in the 39th minute. The Pioneers responded just over a minute later when freshman
Keliann Margiotta (Sewell, N.J.) dribbled past the goalkeeper and fired into the back of the cage on a feed from junior
Carlee Dragon (Bridgewater, N.J.) in the 40th minute.
Indiana (Pa.) scored the go-ahead goal in the 54th minute when Nicole Bruce. Bruce also assisted on the third goal when her initial shot was rebounded and scored on by Chelsea Wanamaker in the 65th minute.
Indiana (Pa.) outshot LIU Post, 12-8. The Pioneers had an 11-9 advantage on penalty corners.
Sophomore
Becca May (Swedesboro, N.J.) made eight stops in goal for the Pioneers.
LIU Post will remain on the road to face Seton Hill on Saturday, Sept. 29 at 2 p.m.
