Field Hockey Shuts Out Franklin Pierce, 4-0

Keliann Margiotta (Sewell, N.J.) scored a pair of goals to lead LIU Post to a 4-0 victory over Franklin Pierce University in a non-conference field hockey contest played at Sodexo Field.
LIU Post improves to 2-0 overall while Franklin Pierce dips to 2-1.
The Pioneers tallied their first goal in the 19th minute when junior forward
Carlee Dragon (Bridgewater, N.J.) scored on a feed from
Claire Steijn. LIU Post kept its 1-0 lead through the first half of play.
In the second half, the Pioneer offense stayed aggressive and scored three goals in just over four minutes of play, beginning when sophomore forward
Lyn-Marie Wilson (St. Michael's, Barbados) tapped in her second goal of the season out front on a pass from Margiotta in the 41st minute.
Wilson paid back the favor as she assisted on both of Margiotta's goals in the 42nd and 45th minute.
Becca May recorded four saves to preserve the shutout. Franklin Pierce's Sarah Cote made four stops in goal.
LIU Post returns to action on Tuesday, Sept. 11 at East Stroudsburg University.
