Volleyball Finishes LHU Tournament With 2-2 Record

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. (Sept. 8, 2012)—The LIU Post women's volleyball team finished up their trip to Lock Haven after going 2-2 on the weekend. The Pioneers started day two of the tournament with a 3-0 (18-25, 9-25, 17-25) loss to Malone but bounced back in game two with a 3-0 (25-16, 25-17, 31-29) over West Virginia Wesleyan.
In game one versus Malone, the Pioneers as a whole racked up 29 digs with two-thirds coming from
Makamae Namahoe (Hilo, Hawaii) and
Rachel Ringor (Honolulu, Hawaii)—Namahoe with 10 and Ringor with 9.
Action in the second game went much differently than the first, with LIU Post taking three straight sets from the Bobcats.
Namahoe had a tremendous stat line in the match including yet another double-double to her season tallying 11 kills, 10 digs, and 4 blocks. Freshmen setters
Monica Amador (Cedar Park, Texas) and
Katie Barto (East Rockaway, N.Y.) combined for 33 assists.
LIU Post's record improves to 5-3 overall. The Pioneers opens up play in the Pratt Recreation Center with their home tournament the weekend of Sept. 14-15 and will play Caldwell College, Pace University, and Adelphi University.
