Dragon, Rhatigan Selected to NFHCA Senior Game
CHANDLER, Ariz. (Oct. 30, 2013) - The National Field Hockey Coaches Association announced the 2013 Front Rush/NFHCA Division II North/South Senior Game rosters on Wednesday, and two LIU Post players made the cut.
Forward Carlee Dragon (Bridgewater, N.J.) and defender Kelly Rhatigan (St. James, N.Y.) got the nod with their exceptional play. They have helped propel the Pioneers to an unbeaten 17-0 record.
The North/South Senior Game will be held on Saturday, Nov. 23 at the Virginia Beach Sportsplex in Virginia Beach, Va. Action is slated to begin at 12:30 p.m.
Starting all 17 contests, Dragon leads the offensive charge for the green and gold, amassing a whopping 73 points on 29 goals and 15 assists. She sits first in the country in assists per game, and second in both goals per game and points per game, respectively.
Rhatigan and the Pioneers have kept the opposition at bay all year, holding their competition to a 0.76 goals per game clip. The St. James, N.Y. native has been in the starting lineup in all 34 matches over two seasons.
Up next for Dragon, Rhatigan and the LIU Post field hockey team is the much-anticipated regular-season finale at home against Stonehill on Saturday (Nov. 2). The opening whistle is set for noon.
