Vistnes, Ambrogi Nab Daktronics All-East Region First-Team Kudos
BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (Nov. 25, 2013) - Senior midfielder
Jeanine Ambrogi (Greenlawn, N.Y.) and sophomore forward
Susanne Vistnes (Randaberg, Norway) were selected Monday to the Daktronics Division II All-East Region first-team. For Vistnes, it is the second-straight year that she has earned the award.
In 18 games this season, Ambrogi, an All-East Coast Conference first-team pick, collected four goals and two assists for a 10-point showing. Two of those tallies also proved to be game-winners. Plus, the Greenlawn local attempted the seventh-most shots (52) in the league in 2013.
Earning ECC Offensive Player of the Year honors in back-to-back campaigns, Vistnes led the conference in goals, points, and shots this year. She finished with 14 tallies and six helpers for 34 points, which keyed the Pioneers to a 13-5 finish, and a ninth-consecutive appearance in the league tournament.
Defensively, senior back
Karina Rizzo (Oceanside, N.Y.) snagged Daktronics All-East Region second-team distinction. She anchored a four-player unit that held opponents to a clip of 0.72 goals scored per game.
