Crouse, Dragon Highlight 2013 Longstreth/NFHCA DII All-America Teams
CHANDLER, Ariz. (Dec. 2, 2013) - The NFHCA released its 2013 Longstreth Division II All-America teams Monday, and four members of the LIU Post field hockey squad made the cut. Graduate defender
Dani Crouse (Westville, South Africa) and senior forward
Carlee Dragon (Bridgewater, N.J.) landed on the first-team.
After being named the Synapse Sports Offensive Player of the Year last week, Dragon secured All-America first-team recognition for the third-consecutive year. The senior led her squad to the NCAA Division II National Championship game, totaling 78 points on 31 goals and 16 assists. Her assist total topped the nation, while she held the second-best point and goal marks.
Crouse, who also earned Synapse Sports first-team accolades, was a driving force for the Pioneers' program-best 21-1 season, as she solidified a defense that sported a nation-best scoring margin of 3.25, while limiting opponents to the country's second-best goals-against clip of 0.85. In the process, Crouse tallied 26 points (6 G, 14 A), including the lone LIU Post goal in the national title contest.
Sophomore forward
Keliann Margiotta (Sewell, N.J.) and junior forward
Lyn-Marie Wilson (Bridgetown, Barbados) occupied the second-team for the Pioneers.
Margiotta finished the season with 67 points (26 G, 15 A). She notched a team-best eight game-winners along the way, and managed a Top-5 output in each of the NCAA's scoring categories.
Rounding out the green and gold on the ledger, Wilson joined Margiotta on the second-team. She finished the year with nine goals and eight assists for 26 total points. Her 0.38 assists per game were good for 23rd in the country.
