Softball's Weber And McLaughlin Garner ECC Weekly Accolades

Liz Weber (Brightwaters, N.Y.) and freshman third baseman
Kelsey McLaughlin (Lido Beach, N.Y.) earned East Coast Conference weekly honor recognition for their on-field performances this past week.
Weber, named the ECC Pitcher of the Week, recorded a 3-0 week in the circle, logging 19.0 innings in three complete games. She allowed just one earned run on ten hits while fanning 26 for a 0.37 ERA and a .159 batting average against. In her first outing she allowed one hit in an 8-0 victory over Queens and followed by a 1-0 win over NYIT in which she led off the game with a solo shot to help her own cause. In her final appearance, she held No. 19 Molloy to just one run on four hits with 11 strikeouts leading the Pioneers to a 2-1 win and the top spot in the conference.
This week's ECC Rookie of the Week, McLaughlin helped the Pioneers to a 6-0 week with a .438 batting average going 7-for-16 at the plate with a double, a walk, a run scored, and an RBI. She slugged .500 and accumulated a .471 on base percentage. In game two of a double header against Queens, McLaughlin led the Pioneers with a 3-for-3 offensive showing.
The Pioneers look to extend their 12-game winning streak as they head to ECC foe St. Thomas Aquinas Monday, April 15 with play starting at 3 p.m.
