Weber Tabbed ECC Player Of The Week
CENTRAL ISLIP, N.Y. (April 30, 2013) – Junior
Liz Weber (Brightwaters, N.Y.) of the LIU Post softball team has been named this week's East Coast Conference Player of the Week, as announced on Monday. This is the third weekly honors she's received this season.
Weber led the Pioneers to a perfect 8-0 week both at the plate and on the mound. At the plate, Weber registered a .556 batting average (15-for-27), .600 on base percentage, and .963 slugging percentage by smacking two doubles and three homeruns while walking three times. She also knocked in seven RBI while scoring nine runs from the leadoff spot. In four appearances on the mound, Weber recorded a 4-0 record, tossing 26.0 innings allowing just five runs on 24 hits and five walks while striking out 26. Her ERA for the week was 1.35.
The ECC released the playing schedule for the upcoming Softball Championships that begin on Thursday at host LIU Post's softball complex. Top-seeded LIU Post will play Mercy College in the first game of the day at 1 p.m.
