LIU Post Athletics Announces Hall of Fame Class of 2013

BROOKVILLE, N.Y. (June 10, 2013) – The LIU Post Department of Athletics announced the candidates for the 2013 Athletic Hall of Fame Induction Dinner, which will take place Monday, June 10 at the Milleridge Inn in Jericho, N.Y.
 
“Congratulations to the Class of 2013 honorees,” said LIU Post Director of Athletics Bryan Collins. “This year's class spans the entire history of the department and each person left their mark on the playing field and court. They will be remembered forever for their considerable contributions to our athletic department and the LIU Post community.”
 
Those being inducted include: Tom Galeazzi, the winningest coach in LIU Post men's basketball history who led the Pioneers to 10 NYCAC Championships and nine NCAA Regional apperances; Eugene Larkin '92, the first-ever men's soccer All-American who was also a three-time All-Conference player; Lore Klotz-Swegler '86, an all-tournament volleyball player who also earned Outstanding Female Athlete accolades; John Frascatore '91, a standout baseball player who was drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals and went on to have a notable career in professional baseball; Roy Chernock, a highly decorated cross country and track & field coach who coached 39 NCAA All-Americans at LIU Post; and Trish Moran-Bonagura '04, a standout two-sport athlete who was a four-time IWLCA All-America lacrosse player and set numerous program records while helping the Pioneers to a 2001 National Championship.
