Women's Soccer Topples Nyack in 2013 Home Opener, 5-0

BROOKVILLE, N.Y. (Sept. 14, 2013) - On Saturday, the LIU Post women's soccer team opened up the home portion of its 2013 schedule with a 5-0 drubbing of Nyack College in Brookville, N.Y. Sophomore forward
Susanne Vistnes (Randaberg, Norway) paved the way for the Pioneers in the win, tallying two goals.
Vistnes got the green and gold just 2:03 into the contest, and LIU Post (2-1), which outshot Nyack (1-2) by a 24-3 count, never looked back from there. On the play, sophomore back

Jeanine Ambrogi (Greenlawn, N.Y), who beat three defenders to find the back of the mesh, accounted for the goals only a minute-plus apart.

Jackie Niciforo (East Islip, N.Y.) capped off the scoring. During a scramble in front of the net, Niciforo fired a five-yard attempt past Warriors' junior goalie Madeline Barbarino, making it a 5-0 game.

Katelyn Phillips (Littleton, Colo.) earned her first shutout of 2013. She faced no shots on net in the effort.
