Cross Country Maintains Top-10 USTFCCCA East Region Praise
NEW ORLEANS, La. (Sept. 25, 2013) - The United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association put out its weekly Division II regional team census on Tuesday, and the LIU Post cross country teams retained Top-10 recognition.
For the Pioneers, the men's team came in at No. 7 for the second week in a row, while the women's squad moved up from 10th to ninth.
In the men's poll, American International remained in the No. 1 spot, while Assumption made the biggest jump, going from 10th to eighth. Bentley rounded out the list at No. 10, making its 2013 debut in the USTFCCCA rankings.
On the women's side, Stonehill earned the top slot for the third week in a row. After placing fourth at the CCSU Ted Owens Invitational, Bentley rose from eighth to fifth, and making its first appearance of the season is Southern New Hampshire, coming in at No. 10.
Up next for LIU Post is a trip up north to Rochester, N.Y. for the Harry F. Anderson Invitational on Saturday (Sept. 28). The meet is slated for an 11 a.m. start.
