RINDGE, N.H. (Sept. 27, 2013) - On Friday, four different players found the back of the cage for the No. 5 ranked LIU Post field hockey team in a 4-0 win against Franklin Pierce in a Northeast-10 Conference tilt at Sodexo Field in Rindge, N.H. The triumph sends the Pioneers to 7-0 overall, and 2-0 in league play.

LIU Post controlled play for the opening 35 minutes, out-shooting the opposition by a count of 15-0. The Pioneers also netted a pair of goals in the process. In the 24th minute, a blast from the top-right quarter of the circle by junior forward Lyn-Marie Wilson (Bridgetown, Barbados) put the hosts ahead 1-0.

Sophomore forward Keliann Margiotta (Sewell, N.J.), who assisted on Wilson's marker, would make it a two-goal contest just before the break. With nine seconds left, she put back a rebound off a Carlee Dragon (Bridgewater, N.J.) attempt. The tally was Margiotta's seventh of the 2013 campaign.

In the latter period, graduate midfielder/defender Dani Crouse (Westville, South Africa) and junior forward Stephanie Ruhle (Wanaque, N.J.) notched goals 4:26 apart to double the Pioneers' lead to 4-0. Crouse scored on an unassisted effort, while Ruhle earned her goal, via a re-direction of a Taylor-Bay Sutton (Phillipsburg, N.J.) shot.

Between the pipes, freshman goalie Amy Zahensky (Bow, N.H.) stopped three shots for Franklin Pierce (1-6, 0-1 NE-10). On the other hand, fellow freshman Ericka Parks (Nesconset, N.Y.) made three saves for LIU Post, which owned a 28-6 advantage in shots, and a 13-3 clip in penalty corners.

Head Coach Raenee Savin and the Pioneers are back to the turf Tuesday (Oct. 1) in an NE-10 clash at Assumption in Worcester, Mass. Action is set for a 7 p.m. start.
