No. 24 Women's Soccer Falls to No. 25 AIC, 2-0

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (Sept. 8, 2013) - On Sunday, the 24th-ranked LIU Post women's soccer team closed out play at the AIC Classic with a 2-0 loss to the host and No. 25 Yellow Jackets at Ronald J. Abdow Field in Springfield, Mass. The defeat now dips the Pioneers' record to 1-1 on the year.
LIU Post managed only four shots (one SOG) in the contest, all of which occurred in the first 45 minutes of play.
AIC (2-0) struck early, and late, en route to scoring both of its goals on the afternoon. In the sixth minute, junior back
Sonia Basma (Silver Spring, Md.) put the hosts on the board. Senior forward
Caroline Boyce (Canterbury, N.H.) would add an insurance tally at the 74:40 mark of the second half.
The Pioneers' lone attempt on net came from sophomore midfielder
Hanna Westerling (Alvadalen, Sweden). However, junior goalie
Sam Tabak (North Haven, Conn.), who had one save, made the stop. For LIU Post, sophomore keeper
Katelyn Phillips (Littleton, Colo.) turned aside eight shots.
