Men's Soccer vs. District of Columbia - 3:30 p.m.The LIU Post men's soccer team is set to host the University of the District of Columbia at 3:30 p.m. at Pioneer Soccer Park in Brookville, N.Y.
The Pioneers (4-3-1, 1-1-1 ECC) welcome the Firebirds (5-2-1, 2-0 ECC) for an East Coast Conference showdown. In LIU Post's last outing, the green and gold drew with NYIT on Saturday (Sept. 27). After the Bears established a 1-0 lead in the third minute, senior forward
Eivind Austboe (Stavanger, Norway) managed to get one past NYIT's keeper upon settling a loose ball in front of the net for the equalizer.
The Firebirds, however, are coming to Brookville off a 2-1 win over Roberts Wesleyan, improving their record to 2-0 in ECC play. Sophomore forward Felix Angerer (Bayreuth, Germany) and junior forward Moussa Traire (Silver Spring, Md.) both scored for UDC, as they managed to outshoot the Redhawks, 12-10.
Last season, the two teams battled to a 2-2 draw at UDC on Oct. 30, 2013.
