Vistnes Dubbed ECC Offensive Player of the Week
CENTRAL ISLIP, N.Y. (Oct. 14, 2014) - On Tuesday, junior forward
Susanne Vistnes (Randaberg, Norway), who recorded nine points in a pair of LIU Post victories last week, was named the East Coast Conference Offensive Player of the Week.
Vistnes is currently tied for third in the nation and leads the ECC with 12 goals in her team's first 11 games of the season. Her offensive output has helped the Pioneers to 10 straight wins and a spot in this week's NSCAA/Continental Tire Top-25 Poll at No. 25.
In two games last week, Vistnes tallied her third hat trick of the season in a 4-1 win over Wilmington (Del.) last Thursday (Oct. 9). Two days later, against then-No. 23 Bridgeport, the junior notched the game-winning goal in a 2-1 triumph over the Purple Knights.
Vistnes and the Pioneers return to action on Wednesday (Oct. 15), when they host ECC rival Dowling at Pioneer Soccer Park in Brookville, N.Y. Kickoff is slated for 3:30 p.m.
