KANSAS CITY, Mo. (Oct. 14, 2014) - After notching its ninth- and 10th-straight wins last week, the LIU Post women's soccer team broke into the NSCAA/Continental Tire Division II National Rankings as the No. 25 team in the country, as released Tuesday.

Despite finding themselves down 1-0 early in both games last week, the Pioneers (10-1, 5-0 ECC) battled back to defeat Wilmington (Del.), 4-1, on Thursday (Oct. 9), and then-No. 23 Bridgeport, 2-1, on Saturday (Oct. 11).

Junior forward Susanne Vistnes (Randaberg, Norway) led the offensive charge in the Pioneers' 4-1 win over Wilmington (Del.). She recorded her third hat trick of the season, scoring twice in the first half and adding another in the 80th minute.

In Saturday's upset of the Purple Knights, LIU Post put together a solid defensive effort in the second half that kept Bridgeport off the scoreboard. Senior forward Morgan Kitton (Bellmore, N.Y.) tallied a goal for the second-straight game, this time on Senior Day, which accounted for the equalizer. Vistnes would record the game-winner in the 62nd minute to lift the Pioneers to the 2-1 victory.

Head Coach Mark Dawson and his LIU Post squad are back in action on Wednesday (Oct. 15), when they host East Coast Conference rival Dowling at Pioneer Soccer Park in Brookville, N.Y. The opening kick is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
