PISCATAWAY, N.J. (Nov. 23, 2014) - Powered by four NCAA "B" qualifiers, a NCAA "Provisional" relay qualifier and a Joyce Kwok (Middle Village, N.Y.) NCAA "A" qualifying cut time, the LIU Post women's swimming team collected 797 total points to place them sixth overall in the Rutgers' Frank Elm Invitational on Sunday.

The first event of the day, the 1650-yard freestyle, saw sophomore Poppy Hill (London, England) and freshman Jacqueline Tonn (Edmonton, Alberta) completing the event at 17:54.87 and 18:33.19, respectively. In the 200-yard backstroke, Johanna Pettersson (Kungalv, Sweden) posted a NCAA "B" qualifier at 2:01.78. Following closely behind Pettersson, freshman Cristina Garcia Mauri (Malaga, Spain) touched the pad at 2:04.47, while senior Kirsty Elliott (Edinburgh, Scotland) came in at 2:12.18.

The 100-yard freestyle saw two LIU Post NCAA "B" cut times, as Laura Bendfeldt (Grosshansdorf, Germany) placed third in the event with a 51.62 and Meghan Brazier (West Vancouver, British Columbia) finished at 52.04. Courtney Delehanty (Oceanport, N.J.) completed the event at 53.29. Carolin Rademacher (Isernhagen, Germany) also earned a NCAA "B" cut time in the 200-yard breaststroke, placing fifth in the event with a 2:18.64, while freshman Erika Hultman (Bara, Sweden) hit the pad at 2:27.62.

Kwok, the reigning 200-yard butterfly national champion, earned a NCAA "A" cut time and a second-place finish in the event at 1:59.72. The last event of the day saw the LIU Post "A" relay squad place third in the 400-yard freestyle relay, while achieving a NCAA "Provisional" qualifying time with a 3:27.40 finish. The "B" squad followed and tapped the pad at 3:35.11.

Head Coach Maureen Travers and the Pioneers are back in action Saturday, Dec. 6, when they face Sacred Heart in Brookville, N.Y. at 1 p.m.
