BROOKVILLE, N.Y. (Dec. 6, 2014) 
- The No. 6 LIU Post women's swimming team won its first nine events Saturday, en route to defeating Sacred Heart, 117-102, at the Pratt Natatorium.

The Pioneers (5-2) got out to a strong start in the meet, winning the 200-yard medley relay by better than four seconds. Senior Carolin Rademacher (Isernhagen, Germany), alongside juniors Joyce Kwok (Middle Village, N.Y.)Seren Jones (Cardiff, Wales, U.K.) and Meghan Brazier (West Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada) finished with a time of 1:49.07.

Individually, Brazier swam to a first-place showing in the 100-yard backstroke, clocking a 59.56. Senior Johanna Pettersson (Kungalv, Sweden) and junior Marthe Soerensen (Stavanger, Norway) each took home two top finishes. Pettersson came in first in the 200-yard freestyle (1:58.10) and the 200-yard backstroke (2:07.35), while Soerensen was tops in back-to-back races, the 50-free (24.68) and 100-free (54.42).

Senior Courtney Delehanty (Oceanport, N.J.) raced to a 1:11,82 in the 100-yard breaststroke, which was good for a first-place effort. Freshman Erika Hultman (Bara, Sweden) was victorious in her 200-fly duel with Sacred Heart's (2-4) Siobhan Goodman (Ridgewood, N.J.), after reaching for the wall at 2:15.38.

Lastly, sophomore Poppy Hill (London, England, U.K.) won the 1,000-yard freestyle with a time of 11:23.96.

Head Coach Maureen Travers and her LIU Post squad will now take a break for the New Year. They return to the pool on Saturday, Jan. 17, when they travel up to Loudonville, N.Y. for a 1 p.m. dual at Siena.
