Softball Holds at 10th in Latest NFCA Division II Rankings
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (Feb. 26, 2014) - For the second week in a row, the LIU Post softball team sat in the 10th slot in Wednesday's NFCA Division II Poll after earning 224 points.
West Texas A&M (17-0) received 15 of 16 possible first-place votes from the committee to total 399 points, and led No. 2 Alabama-Huntsville (one first-place vote) by a commanding 16 tallies.
The Pioneers will now open their season in Winter Haven, Fla. on Sunday, Mar. 9. First pitch is scheduled for 10 a.m. against Wayne State, followed by a 2 p.m. match-up versus Minnesota State - Mankato.
**The NFCA Division II Top-25 Poll is voted on by 16 NCAA Division II head coaches with two representing each of the eight NCAA regions. Current 2014 records are shown; first-place votes are in parentheses.
