SOUTH EASTON, Mass. (Feb. 6, 2014) - On Thursday, the Northeast-10 Conference released its Commissioner's Honor Roll for the Fall 2013 semester, and 21 LIU Post student-athletes made the cut. In total, 3,269 student-athletes appeared on the list.

The Northeast-10 Commissioner's Honor Roll recognizes the conference's student-athletes for their achievements within the classroom. To be eligible for selection, the participating athlete must have met and or exceeded a minimum 3.0 GPA (on a 4.0 scale) for the fall semester.

The Pioneers had five athletes post a perfect 4.0 GPA. Overall, 12 of the 18 field hockey student-athletes landed a spot on the Honor Roll, two of which had a GPA of 4.0. Football sent six to the ledger with three posting unblemished GPA's.

Graduate defender Dani Crouse (Westville, South Africa) and sophomore forward Keliann Margiotta (Sewell, N.J.) excelled both on and off the field, earning 4.0 GPA's and helping lead the LIU Post field hockey squad to the NCAA Division II National Championship game.

Meanwhile, on the gridiron, red-shirt freshman Mike Williams (Westbury, N.Y.) and senior Tommy Williams (Westbury, N.Y.), along with red-shirt junior teammate Dan Belfiore (Glen Cove, N.Y.) all earned a perfect 4.0 for the fall semester.

"We're extremely proud of the academic accomplishments of our student-athletes," stated Northeast-10 Commissioner Julie Ruppert. "The fact that 58 percent of nearly 6,000 students reached this benchmark again illustrates that our student-athletes have proven to excel in the academic arena as well as on the field."
