Softball Re-Enters NFCA Division II Poll at No. 23
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (Mar. 26, 2014) - After a two-week hiatus, the LIU Post softball team reappeared at No. 23 in Wednesday's NFCA Division II Poll.
Victories in three of four match-ups during a high-profile league series was enough to keep West Texas A&M (27-4) on top of the tally for the fifth-consecutive week.
The Pioneers are currently 13-3, riding a 10-game winning streak dating back to a 6-2, eight-inning win over St. Cloud State on Mar. 15 at the Rebel Spring Games in Winter Haven, Fla. Fellow East Region program, Caldwell, sits at 13th. The two squads will face off on Apr. 13 in Caldwell, N.J. with play slated to start at noon.
On Thursday (Mar. 27), LIU Post kicks off East Coast Conference play as it hosts Mercy at 2:30 p.m. at the LIU Post Softball Complex.
**The NFCA Division II Top-25 Poll is voted on by 16 NCAA Division II head coaches with two representing each of the eight NCAA regions. Current 2014 records are shown, first-place votes are in parentheses.
