Softball Drops to 12th in Latest NFCA Division II Poll
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (Mar. 5, 2014) - With the LIU Post softball season set to start on Sunday, the Pioneers, who earned 210 votes, were ranked 12th in Wednesday's NFCA Division II Poll.
Despite suffering its first two losses of the 2014 campaign, West Texas A&M (20-2) remained atop the ledger by the slimmest of margins. The Lady Buffs maintained their hold on the No. 1 spot in the rankings by virtue of a single point.
At the Rebel Spring Games in Winter Haven, Fla., the Pioneers will face off against two other Top-25 programs. Opening its trip on Mar. 9, LIU Post will play No. 14 Wayne State (The two will also meet again on Mar. 13). The green and gold also play fifth-ranked Augustana on Mar. 12.
**The NFCA Division II Top-25 Poll is voted on by 16 NCAA Division II head coaches with two representing each of the eight NCAA regions. Current 2014 records are shown, first-place votes are in parentheses.
