Wrestling to Host Clinic and Recruitment Day

BROOKVILLE, N.Y. (May 20, 2014) - On June 7, Head Coach Joe Patrovich and the newly reformed LIU Post wrestling team will hold a clinic at the Pratt Recreation Center in Brookville, N.Y. The event will run from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Patrovich, a NWCA Hall of Fame inductee and Regional Coach of the Year, will be accompanied by two other clinicians. His son, Mike Patrovich, was a two-time All-American at Division I Hofstra University. In high school, he was a three-time All-State selection and a two-time New York State Tournament finalist. Additionally, Patrovich currently serves as the head coach of the 631 Elite Wrestling Club, which is one of the premier organizations in the Northeast.

Making his return home to assist in the rebirth of the program, Chris Feder is an LIU Post alumnus and a California National Wrestling Hall of Fame member. He was also a runner-up at the NCAA Division II Wrestling Championships. Currently, Feder serves as director of the "Beat The Streets" initiative in San Francisco. He started the concept to assist boys and girls in building their discipline and self-esteem, while developing their personal motivation and a can-do attitude through the sport of wrestling.

The schedule of events is as follows:
7:30 a.m. - 8:30 a.m.: Check-In
9 a.m. - 10:20 a.m.: Session One
10:30 a.m. - 11:50 a.m.: Session Two
12 p.m. - 12:45 p.m.: Live Drill Sessions
1 p.m. - 1:30 p.m.: Informational Recruitment Meeting (with Prospective Student-Athletes and Parents)
    * A recruiting visit and tour can be set up, if desired *

The cost of the clinic is $35.00. All those who pre-register by June 1 will receive a tee-shirt upon arrival. Please make all checks payable to the LIU Post Department of Athletics, Attn: Wrestling. A completed waiver and liability form must be completed and submitted with the check in order to participate.
