BROOKVILLE, N.Y. (May 7, 2014) - The LIU Post women's basketball team has announced the addition of Jasmine Bailey (Washington, D.C.) to the squad for the 2014-15 campaign.

Bailey comes to the Pioneers after transferring from Division I program Stony Brook. She was limited to just six games in the 2013-14 season due to a foot injury. In those six contests, the forward grabbed 15 rebounds.

"We are excited to have Jasmine join our program," Head Coach Deirdre Moore said. "She is a great student-athlete that will play the forward spot for us. She gets up and down the floor well and can score inside and out. Her ability to rebound and draw charges will help us defensively as well."

Prior to Stony Brook, Bailey played at St. John's College High School in Washington, D.C. She averaged 9.0 points and 8.0 rebounds per game. For her efforts, Bailey was nominated for the 2012-13 McDonald's All-America Team, and voted the 2012-13 WCAC Defensive Player of the Year.

The forward also helped her teams to a No. 1 ranking in 2010-11 and 2012-13, and a No. 3 ranking in 2011-12.

The Pioneers wrapped up a program-setting 2013-14 campaign, falling in the NCAA Division II East Region Championship final to top-ranked and eventual national champion Bentley. The green and gold finished with a 24-7 overall record, the second-most single-season wins in program history.
