SOUTH EASTON, Mass. (Sept. 15, 2014) - Following a 2-0 opening week for the LIU Post field hockey team, junior forward Keliann Margiotta (Sewell, N.J.) and graduate defender Dani Crouse (Westville, South Africa) claimed Northeast-10 Conference Player and Defender of the Week honors on Monday, respectively.

In her first two competitions, Margiotta has proven to be an offensive powerhouse for the Pioneers. She found the back of the cage seven times and totaled 16 points on the week. Against Dowling (Sept. 9), the Sewell native scored a hat trick, helping her squad to a 6-0 victory. One week later, Margiotta contributed four tallies and two assists to key LIU Post's 7-0 win at Southern New Hampshire (Sept. 13). She currently averages 3.5 goals, 1.0 assists and 8.0 points per game.

Crouse has been vital to the Pioneer defense, which shut out both opponents this week. In the green and gold's win over Dowling, she had four shots on goal, while commanding a back line that didn't allow the Golden Lions a single shot throughout the contest. Versus Southern New Hampshire, Crouse once again anchored a defensive unit that didn't yield a shot.

Head Coach Raenee Savin and the Pioneers are back in action on Friday (Sept. 19), when they face Saint Anselm in Manchester, N.H. at 2 p.m.
