CENTRAL ISLIP, N.Y. (Nov. 20, 2015) - For the second time in three years, LIU Post volleyball senior
Rachel Ringor (Honolulu, Hawaii) earned East Coast Conference Libero of the Year praise, it was announced by the league on Friday.
Ringor, who claimed the same honor in 2013, has anchored the Pioneer defense this season with a team-best 395 digs, averaging 4.07 per set. She has also served 45 aces, which currently places fourth in the ECC and 55th in Division II. Furthermore, Ringor's clip of 0.46 aces per set ranks 25th amongst the nation's leaders.
Sophomore outside/middle/right-side hitter
Danielle Valenza (Hauppauge, N.Y.) was recognized to the All-East Coast Conference Second Team. She paved the way for the LIU Post offense, slamming down a Pioneer-best 310 kills in 29 matches. Additionally, Valenza sits in the Top-20 in the ECC in 10 different statistical categories, including a No. 8 ranking in kills.
Lastly, freshman setter
Giulia Genna (Civitella San Paolo, Italy) received All-ECC Honorable Mention accolades. A four-time ECC Rookie of the Week selection, Genna has dished out the fourth-most assists in the league with 1,125, while compiling 240 digs, 70 kills, 46 blocks, 29 aces and a .312 hitting percentage in her first collegiate season. Her 1,125 helpers rank 54th in the country, as well.
