Women's Swimming at Metropolitan Conference Championships
For the last three years, the LIU Post women's swimming team has been the most dominant faction in the Metropolitan Conference. The Pioneers placed second in the 2011-12 conference championship meet, then proceeded to win the Metro title the next two years. Starting today, the green and gold will swim at Rutgers, looking for their third-straight championship victory.

In their last tune-up before the Metropolitan Championships, LIU Post won five of seven events at the NYU Invitational on Feb. 7 at the Coles Sports Center. The Pioneers finished one-two in both the 100-yard butterfly and 100-yard backstroke races. In the fly, junior Joyce Kwok (Middle Village, N.Y.) clocked a 58.02, while freshman Laura Bendfeldt (Grosshansdorf, Germany) finished just under two seconds back (59.86). Senior Johanna Pettersson (Kungalv, Sweden) finished the 100-yard backstroke in a time of 58.49. Junior Meghan Brazier (West Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada) placed second behind Pettersson, sporting a time of 59.31.

Senior Carolin Rademacher (Isernhagen, Germany) starred for the Pioneers, winning two individual races. She won the 400-yard individual medley (4:35.45) by more than three seconds and also took the 100-yard breaststroke competition with a time of 1:06.20.
