Indoor Track and Field Races at Ramapo Select

Mike Scott (Fultonville, N.Y.) event win and a women's relay top finish, the LIU Post men's and women's indoor track and field teams placed 14th and 13th, respectively, at the Ramapo Indoor Select on Saturday evening.
The men's 60 and 200-meter dash saw freshman
Bjorn Bjornsson (Levittown. N.Y.) cross the finish line at 7.32 and 23.41, respectively. Scott boasted a first-place finish in the one mile run, securing the top spot with a 4:22.11 finish. His teammates,
Ryan Gioe (Huntington Station, N.Y.) and
Thomas Flynn (Smithtown, N.Y.), completed the feat at 4:39.11 and 4:39.38. The men's 3000-meter run saw
Steven Arnone (Staten Island, N.Y.) and
Tyler McGarvey (Babylon, N.Y.) race to a 9:16.69 and a 9:28.59, respectively. In the men's long jump, Bjornsson leaped to a 5.97 meter mark.
For the women, graduate student
Robin Lynn (Glen Gardener, N.J.) owned a 1:02.48 in the 400-meter dash, while her teammate
Brooke Rozea (Syosset, N.Y.) completed the one mile run at 5:44.60. The women's 4 x 400-meter relay saw a Pioneer first-place finish as
Lauren Hoffman (Melville, N.Y.), Lynn,
Talya Williams (Schenectady, N.Y.) and
Elizabeth Stirling (Wantagh, N.Y.) raced to a 12:27.47 finish. Freshman
Danae Glover (North Babylon, N.Y.) rounded off green and gold competition with a 11.04 mark in the women's triple jump.
LIU Post returns to competition on Friday (Feb. 13), when it races at the Molloy Invitational in South Huntington.
