BROOKVILLE, N.Y. (Feb. 8, 2015) - The LIU Post women's fencing team went undefeated in the epee discipline, propelling the Pioneers to an 11-5 victory over Stony Brook on Sunday at the Pratt Recreation Center. It was the first-ever home meet for the green and gold, which is in its inaugural season of competition.

The Pioneers won all nine bouts in epee fencing, as senior Alexa Parry (Setauket, N.Y.), sophomore Kirstan Shaw (South Setauket, N.Y.) and freshman Chantelle Duncan (Valley Stream, N.Y.) each picked up three wins in the meet. Parry and Shaw recorded one shutout apiece, as well, defeating an opponent by a 5-0 scoreline. Additionally, sophomore Sophie Michaelides (Whitestone, N.Y.) won both of her bouts in the foil discipline.

Head Coach Mike Corona and the Pioneers will compete next month (Mar. 8) at the NCAA Northeast Regional Championships, hosted by NYU.
