Rademacher Earns All-America Honors on Day One of NCAA Championships

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (Mar. 11, 2015) - On Wednesday, senior Carolin Rademacher (Isernhagen, Germany) placed seventh in the 200-yard individual medley, as the LIU Post women's swimming team kicked off competition at the 2015 NCAA Division II Swimming and Diving Championships at the IUPUI Sports Complex. After a full day of trials and finals, the Pioneers collected 18 total points, good for 14th place.

The preliminary trials saw the green and gold race to lifetime-bests, as well as top seeding. Rademacher and Johanna Pettersson (Kungalv, Sweden) swam in the 200-yard individual medley and both posted Top-10 times. Rademacher came in sixth at 2:03.30 and Pettersson finished 10th at 2:04.29. Meghan Brazier (West Vancouver, B.C., Canada), Laura Bendfeldt (Grosshansdorf, Germany) and Courtney Delehanty (Oceanport, N.J.) raced to 20th-, 23rd- and 36th-place finishes in the 50-yard freestyle, at 23.66, 23.71 and 23.94, respectively. The 200-yard medley relay squad swam to a season-best mark, but were later scratched from finals qualification.

In finals competition, both Rademacher and Pettersson boasted high overall finishes in the 200-yard individual medley. Rademacher raced to a Top-8 showing (2:02.83), while Pettersson completed the feat at 2:03.92, which was good for 11th place.

Head Coach Maureen Travers and the Pioneers return to the pool on Thursday (Mar. 12), when they compete in Day Two of the 2015 NCAA Division II Swimming and Diving Championships in Indianapolis.
