Rademacher and Kwok Snag Silver and Relay Squad Places Fourth After Day Two of NCAA Championships

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (Mar. 12, 2015) - Highlighted by Carolin Rademacher (Isernhagen Germany) and Joyce Kwok (Middle Village, N.Y.) second-place performances, as well as a 400-yard relay top-five effort, the LIU Post swim team has collected 96 total points, good for seventh, after Day Two of competition at the 2015 NCAA Swimming and Diving Championship at the IUPUI Natatorium. 

Preliminary trials saw Pioneer high finishes and qualifers, as well as an institution record. The green and gold 200-yard freestyle relay squad qualified ninth overall, as Laura Bendfeldt (Grosshansdorf, Germany), Johanna Pettersson (Kungalv, Sweden), Courtney Delehanty (Oceanport, N.J.) and Meghan Brazier (West Vancouver, B.C., Canada) completed the feat at 1:34.19. Rademacher qualified second overall in the 400-yard individual medley with a 4:19.70 finish, while Kwok also secured a No. 2 qualification, as well as a new institution record, in the 100-yard butterfly at 53.63. Bendfeldt went on to complete the hundred fly at 56.78. LIU Post's 400-yard medley relay squad, Pettersson, Rademacher, Kwok and Brazier, touched the pad at at 3:43.40, good for a fouth-place qualification. 

The first event of Thursday's finals competition, the 200-yard freestyle relay, saw Bendfeldt, Pettersson, Delehanty and Brazier round out the top-ten at 1:34.19. Rademacher, in the 400 individual medley, swam to an All-American, second-place overall finish, as she completed the event at 4:18.06. The 100-yard butterfly saw another Pioneer All-American silver finish, as Kwok finished at 53.59 - a new personal best. The 400-yard relay squad, Pettersson, Rademacher, Kwok and Brazier, earned an All-America distinction and a No. 4 completion at 3:41.79. 

The LIU Post swimming team returns to NCAA Championship compeition on Friday, Mar. 13.
