Rademacher and Kwok Named All-Americans with High Finishes At Day Three of NCAA Championship
Finals ResultsINDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (Mar. 13, 2015) - On Friday,
Carolin Rademacher (Isernhagen, Germany) and
Joyce Kwok (Middle Village, N.Y.) were named All-Americans, as their top-eight finishes earned them a spot on the NCAA podium. After day three of events at the 2015 National Championship, LIU Post swimming ranks eighth overall with 127 total points.
The preliminary trials saw five Pioneers compete for a spot in the national finals. In the 100-yard backstroke, senior
Johanna Pettersson (Kungalv, Sweden) qualified 11th overall, at 55.57, while
Seren Jones (Cardiff, Wales, United Kingdom) and
Meghan Brazier (West Vancouver, B.C., Canada) completed the feat at 56.86 and 56.88, respectively, seeding 25th and 27th. Rademacher swam to a third-place qualification in the 100-yard breaststroke at 1:02.73, while Kwok qualified seventh in the event at 2:02.81.
At finals competition, Pettersson placed 15th overall in the 100-yard backstroke, touching the pad at 56.42. The next women's event, the 100-yard breaststroke, saw Rademacher clinch a sixth-place, All-American completion at 1:02.92. Kwok secured the bronze and an All-America distinction in the 200-yard butterfly, finishing at 1:59.65.
