COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (Jul. 1, 2015) - On Wednesday, ten members of the LIU Post women's swimming team garnered Scholar All-America recognition from the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA).
The Pioneers' ten honorees and seven first-team selections were the third-most in Division II. Wingate University topped the list with 15 Scholar All-Americans and Lindenwood University followed in second with 11.
To be selected for the CSCAA Scholar All-America Team, a swimmer must have achieved a grade-point average of 3.5 or higher in the specified academic year, and participated in the NCAA Division II Championships. Those chosen to the Honorable Mention squad need to have similarly achieved a 3.5 GPA and posted a qualifying "B" time standard.
The green and gold's seven First Team Scholar All-Americans were
Carolin Rademacher (Isernhagen, Germany),
Courtney Delehanty (Oceanport, N.J.),
Johanna Pettersson (Kungalv, Sweden),
Joyce Kwok (Middle Village, N.Y.),
Laura Bendfeldt (Grosshansdorf, Germany),
Meghan Brazier (West Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada) and
Seren Jones (Cardiff, Wales, United Kingdom).
Meanwhile,
Cristina Garcia Mauri (Malaga, Spain) and
Erika Hultman (Bara, Sweden), both of whom recently completed their first season at LIU Post, and
Marthe Soerensen (Stavanger, Norway) garnered CSCAA Scholar All-America Honorable Mention accolades.
