LOCK HAVEN, Pa. (Sept. 12, 2015) - On Saturday, the LIU Post volleyball team lost to Lock Haven University and Wayne State University at Lock Haven's Angelina Miele Memorial Tournament at Thomas Field House.

Match #1: LIU Post 1, Lock Haven 3 (23-25, 30-28, 15-25, 17-25)
In the loss to Lock Haven (4-3), freshman outside hitter Rachel Londot (Utica, Ohio) led the Pioneers with her fifth double-double (12 kills, 20 digs) of the year. Senior middle hitter Melissa Hansen (Colorado Springs, Colo.) and sophomore outside/middle/right-side Danielle Valenza (Hauppauge, N.Y.) each recorded nine kills.

Valenza was also one of five LIU Post players with 10 digs or more. She and junior outside/right-side/middle hitter Analise Austin (Honolulu, Hawaii) totaled 17 digs apiece. Senior libero Rachel Ringor (Honolulu, Hawaii) had a team-high 23 digs. Senior setter/right-side hitter Monica Amador (Cedar Park, Texas) chipped in 14 digs.

Freshman setter Giulia Genna (Civitella San Paolo, Italy) allocated 23 assists, to go along with seven digs and three blocks (two solo, one assist).

Match #2: LIU Post 0, Wayne State 3 (21-25, 20-25, 24-26)
Despite hitting at clips of .320 and .269 in the first two sets, the Pioneers (5-3) fell to Wayne State (3-5), 3-0.

Londot and Valenza both provided nine kills in the effort. Additionally, Londot amassed nine digs and served up two aces. Junior middle hitter Taryn McCullouch (Buena Park, Calif.) tallied six kills. Genna dished out 24 assists.

Head Coach Shellane Ogoshi and her LIU Post squad now return home to host a tri-match next Saturday (Sept. 19) against Franklin Pierce University and Holy Family University. The matches are slated for 1 and 5:30 p.m. starts, respectively.
