CENTRAL ISLIP, N.Y. (Sept. 21, 2015) - After averaging 10.86 assists per set in two matches, LIU Post volleyball freshman setter Giulia Genna (Civitella San Paolo, Italy) was dubbed the East Coast Conference Rookie of the Week on Monday.

Genna had a season-high 52 assists Saturday in a 3-1 win over Franklin Pierce University, and followed that up with a 24-assist showing in a 3-0 sweep of Holy Family University. She also collected 14 digs versus FPU for her third double-double of the year.

Genna currently ranks third in the ECC in assists (280) and fifth in assists per set (8.0). Additionally, her 280 helpers are tops amongst all freshmen setters in the conference.

Genna and the Pioneers are back in action Tuesday (Sept. 22), when they welcome in Dowling College for thei 2015 ECC opener. First serve from the Pratt Recreation Center is slated for 7 p.m.
