CENTRAL ISLIP, N.Y. (Jan. 11, 2016) - On Monday, LIU Post women's basketball freshman guard Shannon Doyle (Hopewell Junction, N.Y.) was named the East Coast Conference Rookie of the Week.

Doyle averaged 13.0 points, 5.0 rebounds and 3.0 steals per game in two contests last week. She scored 11 points in a 74-63 loss to Molloy on Wednesday (Jan. 6), before the freshman set career-highs with 15 points, nine rebounds and five steals in the Pioneers' 57-54 win over Queens on Saturday (Jan. 9).

Doyle and the Pioneers are back in action on Tuesday (Jan. 12), when they take on NYIT at Recreation Hall in the first edition of the 2015-16 Battle of the Boulevard. The opening tip is slated for 5 p.m. from Old Westbury.
