SELDEN, N.Y. (Oct. 16, 2016) - On Sunday, the LIU Post equestrian team rode to reserve high point team accolades at the Stony Brook University Show, held at the Olde Towne Equestrian Center.

Sophomore Chloe Hoerner (Brightwaters, N.Y.) was tabbed as the reserve high point rider, after capturing a first-place finish in the intermediate fences and a second-place showing in the novice flat.

Sophomore Grace Tice (Simsbury, Conn.) won her class in open fences for a third-straight week. Juniors Mallory Slack (East Islip, N.Y.) and Sara Peterson (Huntington, N.Y.) individually earned first-place ribbons in the intermediate fences and walk-trot.

Sophomore Jessica Sulkers (Toronto, Ontario, Canada), who finished second in intermediate fences, moved up a division to open fences. She also finished third in the open flat.

Sophomore Alexandra Blach (East Williston, N.Y.) and freshman Gianna Perry (Ronkonkoma, N.Y.) each had second-place rides in the walk-trot-canter. Junior Shannon Wright (Valley Stream, N.Y.) was second in the walk-trot.

In the novice flat, sophomore Vanessa Finazzo (Massapequa Park, N.Y.) led the way with a second-place effort. Freshmen Alex Daskam (Southbury, Conn.) and Cara Sappelsa (Smithtown, N.Y.) both placed third in their class.

In her return from injury, junior Heather Grova (Ronkonkoma, N.Y.) came in third in the intermediate flat and added a fourth-place finish in the intermediate fences.

Head Coach Brooke Chasin and the Pioneers return to action next Sunday (Oct. 23) at the Hofstra University Show at Country Farms in Medford.
